Women's Lacrosse Adds 10 Newcomers in Class of 2020

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse team will reload for 2017 with 10 newcomers joining a Quakers team which played a program-record 20 games in 2016, won an Ivy League championship, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.

The Red and Blue will add five midfielders, two attackers, two defenders and a goalkeeper as members of the Class of 2020. Six of the players have earned All-American honors during their high school careers.

“We are excited to welcome this group of outstanding young women to the Penn Lacrosse family,” said head coach Karin Corbett. “This is an exciting time for our program and I know these student-athletes are ready to carry on our proud tradition and continue to compete for a national championship. They have each found great success already with their high school and club programs, and that passion for greatness and their desire to accomplish big things will continue to raise the bar for our program.”

Five freshman hail from New York, two are from New Jersey and one each hail from Connecticut, Maryland and North Carolina.
