Women's Rowing Completes Fall at Rivanna Romp

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The University of Pennsylvania women's rowing team completed the fall portion of its 2016-17 schedule on Sunday morning at the Rivanna Romp, hosted by the University of Virginia at the Rivanna Reservoir.

The Quakers ran four eights at the Romp, competing in a 19-boat division along with the host Cavaliers, Ivy rival Columbia, as well as Duke, Louisville and Clemson.

Penn's A boat was fourth overall, clocking 13:22.9 over the three-mile course. That was behind a pair of Virginia boats including the Cavaliers' A boat which won the race in 13:01.1, a full 19 seconds ahead of second-place Duke A (13:20.1). Penn's B boat was eighth overall in 13:46.1, while the Quakers' C boat was 16th (14:09.1) and the D boat was 18th (14:30.3).
