HANOVER, N.H. - The University of Pennsylvania women's soccer team came back from a deficit on Saturday night, but could not get past Dartmouth and ended up tying the Big Green, 1-1, at Burnham Field.
Penn (7-3-2, 1-2-1 Ivy League) has a staggering streak of not allowing a goal in the run of play since the 12th minute of the season. That remained intact after Saturday night, as the Big Green's goal came via a penalty kick, the third given up by the Quakers this season.
Holly Patterson converted the PK for the Big Green (6-5-1, 0-3-1), a PK that came in the 10th minute of the second half.
Penn equalized in the 66th minute. Off a corner kick, senior defender Paige Lombard scored from inside the box for her third tally of the season. Emily Sands was given the assist on the play.
Neither team could find the winner after that, and ended up drawing for the second-straight year.
Penn outshot Dartmouth on the night, 16-7, and forced Big Green goalkeeper Casey Cousineau to make nine saves. At the other end, Kitty Qu had one stop.
Penn returns to Ivy League action again next Saturday, traveling to Yale to take on the Bulldogs in a match that will kick off at 4 p.m.
