Women's Crew Drops Award Plaque to Princeton

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's rowing varsity 8 finished in third place Saturday in the Award Plaque race on the Schuylkill river. Princeton came away with the victory, while Dartmouth finished second.

In the varsity 8, Princeton cruised to the win in 6:18.3, with Dartmouth 19 seconds back in 6:37.4. Penn completed the course in 6:51.4.

Penn came in second in the second varsity 8 in 6:57.9, behind Princeton's 6:42.3. The Quakers also took second in the varsity 4 (7:35.3), behind Princeton (7:23.1) but ahead of the Big Green (7:40.3).

In the novice 8, the Tigers again came away with the win in 6:38.8, ahead of Dartmouth (6:50.4) and Penn (7:02.0). In the varsity 4 B, Princeton finished on top in 7:31.3, Princeton's second novice boat in 7:39.4, and Penn in 8:09.9.

The Quakers will return to the water on May 14 for EAWRC Sprints on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J.
