PELHAM, N.Y. - The Penn women's rowing team suffered a setback Sunday morning, placing third at the Connell Cup against Yale and Columbia.
The Quakers' varsity eight finished the course in 7:08.3, behind Yale (6:50.9) and Columbia (7:00.4). The second varsity eight also finished third in a time of 7:14.5. The varsity four finished second in 8:07.4, behindthe Bulldogs(7:57.2) and ahead of the Lions (8:16.8).
One bright spot for Penn was the performance of itsnovice fourboat, which defeated Columbia by 9.9 seconds in 8:07.0.
Yale's victory in the varsity eightwas its sixth in a row in the annual Connell Cup race.
The Quakers will continue their spring schedule on April 8 when they take on Northeastern and Syracuse in the Orange Challenge Cup in Syracuse.
