Women's Crew Wraps Up Season at Sprints

CAMDEN, N.J. - Penn women's crew wrapped up its season Sunday, competing in several events at the annual EAWRC regatta on the Cooper River Lake in Camden.

The Quaker varsity 8 finished 11th overall after placing fifth in the Petite Final. Penn's time of 7:25.519 was twoseconds better than sixth-place George Washington. In the morning heats, Penn narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Grand Final, and was dead-even at 1,000 meters with Yale and Dartmouth, the eventual first- and second-place heat finishers.

The day's highest finisher for the Quakers was the varsity 4 "A" boat, which took sixth place in the afternoon's Grand Final after turning in the morning's top qualifying time. Penn crossed the line in the finalin 8:40.619.

The second varsity 8 took ninth overall by finishing third in the Petite Final in a time of 7:28.145, while the novice 8 took 13th by winning the 3rd Final in a time of 7:45.079.

Penn also had an alumnae crew compete, and they took second, behind Brown, in a time of 7:29.406.
