Women's Cross Country Finishes Eighth at NCAA Regional

University Park, Pa. - The Quakers ran to an eighth place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Saturday behind the legs of sophomore Leslie Kovach.

Kovach earned All-Region honors by finishing the 6k race 22nd overall in a time of 21:11. It is the highest finish for a Penn runner since Stacy Kim placed 15th in 2007.

Sophomore Margaret Diacont was the second Quaker to finish, crossing 53rd overall in 22:08. Freshman Catherine Phillips was behind her in 59th, finishing just eight seconds later.

Kimberly Condino was the fourth Red and Blue runner to finish, in 80th with a time of 22:43. She was followed by freshman Christine Cohick (22:58), Veronica Salcido (23:47) and sophomore Megan Powell (25:26).

The eighth place finish is the highest for Penn since the team placed sixth overall in 2007.
