PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's cross country concludes its season at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional at Penn State on Saturday Nov. 13, when the Quakers race at noon.
The Red and Blue are coming off a weekend in which the team recorded its best finish (sixth) since taking fourth in 2007. In that race sophomore Leslie Kovach earned her first All-Ivy selection with a 13th place finish in the 5k, crossing the line in 17:53.2.
Sophomores Megan Powell and Margaret Diacont were the second and third Quakers to finish, placing 24th (18:03.4) and 27th (18:11.1) respectively. Freshman Catherine Phillips came in 50th overall and junior Veronica Salcido was the fifth Penn runner to cross, taking 54th.
Last year at the Mid-Atlantic Regional, Penn finished 10th out of 27 teams in the 6k race. Diacont and Kovach were the top two finishers for the Red and Blue, placing 40th and 44th.
