Women's Cross Country Ranked Sixth In The Region

PHILADELPHIA - The women's cross country team is ranked sixth in the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association's (USTFCCCA) Mid-Atlantic Region preseason poll.

The poll, released Monday, September 14, has the Quakers sitting in sixth in the Mid-Atlantic Region behind West Virginia, Villanova, Princeton, Georgetown and Penn State.

In Penn's first race of the season, the Red and Blue beat the field at the Fordham Fiasco and doubled the score of second place Princeton, 30-63.

Four Quakers finished in the top ten, including spots 3-5. Freshman Leslie Kovach took third, while senior Anna Aegenes and first year Laura Bilder took four and fifth respectively.

This weekend Penn travels to New York City for the Iona Meet of Champions.
