Women's Cross Country Takes Ninth at Penn State

State College, Pa. - The Red and Blue had two runners place in the top fifty as the team finished ninth out of 31 entrants on Saturday at the Penn State Invitational in College Park.

The Quakers were led in the race by a trio of sophomores, in Leslie Kovach, Megan Powell and Margaret Diacont. Kovach was Penn's top finisher taking 19th in a time of 21:17, while Powell ran the course in 21:52, taking 43rd.

Diacont was 53rd in a time of 22:05 and freshman Catherine Phillips was the fourth Red and Blue runner to finish, in 22:20. Sophomore Kimberly Condino was the final Quaker to earn points for Penn, taking 105th in a time of 22:52.

Penn has next weekend off before traveling to Van Cortlandt Park for the Ivy League Championships Oct. 29.
