PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's cross country team looks to continue their strong season after week off as they race in the Penn State Invitational on Friday morning.
The Quakers face stiff competition on Friday as they run against 15 regionally ranked teams, four of which are nationally ranked, including third ranked West Virginia. Ivy foes Cornell and Yale are also in the competition.
Two weeks ago the Red and Blue took seventh in a 40 team field at the Paul Short Invitational. Sophomore Laura Steel was the top finisher for Penn, taking 38th with a time of 21:23, as the Quakers were one of five teams to have all of their runners finish in the top 100. Freshman Margaret Diacont and Leslie Kovach finished 61st and 67th respectively for Penn as well.
