PHILADELPHIA - The women's cross country team gets back in action this weekend when they travel to race against some of the nation's top teams at the Penn State National on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.
The Quakers are one of over 30 teams in a field which features a number of ranked teams, including Villanova and host Penn State. In the Red and Blue's last meet, the Paul Short Invitational, Penn finished 14th behind the running of sophomore Leslie Kovach.
Kovach finished 21st in rainy conditions with a time of 21:01 and Megan Powell was the second Quaker to cross the line, taking 76th in 21:54. Freshman Catherine Phillips was third for Penn, finishing 114th in 22:19.
Last year the Quakers finished eighth out of 18 teams in poor conditions, led by junior Laura Steel and freshman Margaret Diacont.
