Women's Fencing 10th After First Day Of NCAA Championships

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Quakers sit in 10th place following the first of two days of competition at the NCAA Championships held at Harvard.

Penn's quartet of fencers combined for 20 victories on Thursday. Sophomore Dominika Franciszkowicz was the top fencer for the Quakers, winning eight bouts in sabre to put her in 10th place with one day of competition remaining.

Also in sabre, junior Danielle Kamis concluded the day with three victories. In foil, freshman Aida Abdikulova won five bouts to put herself 16th after the first day. Stephanie Wheeler is Penn's fourth fencer in the competition and she recorded three victories on Thursday.
