Women's Fencing Competes at Penn State Open

STATE COLLEGE, PA. - Four top 16 finishes highlighted the first competition of the season for the women's fencing team, Saturday at Penn State.

Amrit Bhinder had the best individual performance for the Quakers, finishing fifth in epee. A pair of Penn fencers had high finishes in foil, Wendy Zhao coming in 11th with Laura Paragano in 16th. Dominika Franciszkowicz had the best result for the Red and Blue in saber, wrapping up in 14th.

Penn returns to the strips next on January 21, hosting the Philadelphia Invitational at Hutchinson Gym. A year ago, the Quakers went 4-1 at the event which was held at Temple.
