Women's Fencing Gears Up for Final Home Duals

PHILADELPHIA – The No. 7 University of Pennsylvania women’s fencing team will host the USCSC in The Coach Dave Micahnik Fencing Center on Sunday. Twelve schools will participate in the invitational, and seedings for the tournament will take place before fencing begins that morning at 9 a.m. The USCSC is the Quakers’ last invitational before regionals.

Penn currently stands with an overall record of 18-8. Two weeks ago, the Red and Blue competed in the Ivy League Fencing Round-Robins, where they went 3-3. The Quakers traded losses and wins, first falling victim to No. 5 Columbia, 14-13. Penn came back with its first victory of the round-robins over Cornell, 18-9, and saw its second loss come against No. 3 Harvard, 22-5. The Red and Blue closed the first day out with a win over Yale, 21-6.

Day two saw action between Penn and No. 1 Princeton. The Quakers tallied their third loss of the tournament to the Tigers, 25-2, but finished with a 15-12 win over Brown.
