Women's Golf Announces Class of 2013

PHILADELPHIA - University of Pennsylvania women’s golf head coach Mark Anderson has announced his incoming class for the 2009 season. The program’s Class of 2013 will feature four recruited student-athletes.

“I am very excited about the four freshmen that will join our team this fall,” said Anderson, who recently completed his first season with the Quakers. “They are all experienced tournament players who should easily be able to make the transition from junior golf to the collegiate level. Our team next year will be the most competitive in the history of the women’s golf program here at Penn, and I expect us to win an event or two and contend for the Ivy League championship.”

These four freshmen will join a veteran squad that features three seniors and five letterwinners from the 2008-09 campaign. Penn finished fifth at the 2009 Ivy League Championships, missing out on fourth place by a stroke.
