Women's Golf Back On the Tee This Weekend

PHILADELPHIA - There is little rest for the weary when it comes to the Penn women's golf team this week. After competing in the Golfweek Challenge from Monday to Wednesday in Colorado, the Quakers are right back at it this weekend in more familiar territory -- the Princeton Invitational is a 54-hole event that will run Saturday at Sunday at the par-72 Springdale Golf Club near the Princeton campus.

Penn is in a field that includes Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Harvard and Princeton from the Ivy League as well as Lehigh, Mount St. Mary's, Rollins, Rutgers, Siena and Seton Hall. The teams will play two rounds on Saturday, beginning the first round at 8 a.m., with the final round beginning Sunday at 8 a.m.

The team is very excited about competing this week at Princeton," said Head Coach Mark Anderson. "We finished third here last year, and our goal is to improve on that finish. The women are rested, as they had a well-deserved day off after playing five rounds in Colorado earlier this week. In light of our finish last week, the team is full of confidence. We are comfortable with this course and know that we are one of the best teams in the field."

Four of the women who played for Penn in Colorado will be part of the lineup this weekend - senior Tiffany Cheung, junior Isabel Han, sophomore Michelle Lee and freshman Amanda Chin. Sophomore Olivia Chang makes her 2011-12 debut in the lineup this weekend, while freshman Kelsey Williams will make her collegiate debut for the Quakers as she plays the tournament as an individual.
