PISCATAWAY, N.J. - The Penn women's golf team placed sixth out of 16 teams at the Rutgers Women's Invitational, which took place Friday and Saturday at the par-72 Rutgers University Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J.
The Quakers carded 328-323--651 and finished just shy of fourth place. Boston College won the team title, carding 319-310--629, followed by Lehigh (317-316--633) and Albany (318-317--635). Bucknell was fourth (328-320--648) and Fairleigh Dickinson was fifth (320-329--649).
For Penn, junior Lisette Vitter was the top Quaker and she had a strong weekend, finishing in a tie for second with 75-77--152.That was shy of Lehigh's Livia Amado, who dusted the field by five strokes with a three-over-par 147 (74-73).
Freshman Tiffany Cheung tied for 16th overall (81-78--159), while junior Catherine Elliott (84-78--162) was alone in26th. FreshmanMichelle Winters (88-90--178) tied for 67th, while classmateElizabeth Pettie (89-90--179) tied for 70th.
Penn will conclude the fall portion of its schedule in two weeks, when it competes at the Lehigh Invitational.
