Women's Golf Fourth After Day 1 of Ivies

NORTHFIELD, N.J.- The Penn women's golf team is in fourth place after the first day of the Ivy League Championships, which began today at the Atlantic City Country Club.

The Quakers shot a first-round 325 (37 over par) which puts them behind Harvard (306), Yale (308) and Princeton (310) but ahead of Columbia (333), Brown (333) and Dartmouth (352).

Junior Meredith Kotowski was the low Penn scorer Friday, she shot 5-over par 77 and is tied for sixth overall. Freshman Tiffany Cheung (79) is tied for 11th overall, while Lisette Vitter (81) is tied for 17th. Junior Catherine Elliott (88/t-27th) and Elizabeth Pettie (93/t-33rd) rounded out Penn's lineup.

The teams return to action with 18 holes tomorrow and 18 holes Sunday.
