Women's Golf in Tenth Place After Day 1 of Hoya Invitational

Beallsville, Md.—After battling wind and rain, the Penn women’s golf team finds itself in tenth place following the first day of competition in the Hoya Invitational with a total of 670.

Georgetown is hosting the 14-team tournament at The Members Club at Four Streams.

Lisette Vitter recorded the best start for the Quakers, shooting an 84 in the first round and a 76 in the second. The 160-combined total has earned her 28thplace individually so far.

Meredith Kotowski carded an 86 and an 81 to tie for 40thplace individually on the day, while Catherine Elliot shot an 83 and an 85 to tie for 42ndplace.

Meg Bender is tied for 57thplace after shooting an 87 and an 88 in rounds one and two, respectively, and Shara Venezia-Walerstein shot a 94 and a 95 to tie for 67thplace.

Yale currently holds first place with a first-day team total of 614.

The final round of the tournament will take place tomorrow.
