Women's Golf Places Eighth at Yale Fall Intercollegiate

Final Results

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Penn women's golf team finished eighth out of 11 teams at the Yale Women's Fall Intercollegiate, held Saturday and Sunday on the famous par-70 Yale GC.

The Quakers shot 336-323--659 and were four strokes off the pace of seventh-place James Madison. Princeton won the team title, shooting 309-293--602, while Harvard was second (306-298--604) and host Yale was third (312-308--620). Other Ivy schools who competed included Brown (ninth, 339-325--664) and Dartmouth (10th, 348-321--669).

Three freshmen led the way for Penn on the day. Meredith Kotowski was the Quakers' top finisher, tying for 17th overall with 80-78--158 (+18). Lisette Vitter tied for 29th overall at 80-83--163 (+23), while Catherine Elliott tied for 41st overall with 88-80--168 (+28).

Nicole Kouch (88-82--170, +30) tied for 44th overall, and Stephanie Stamas (88-85--173, +33) tied for 49th overall. Jaclyn Kouch competed as an individual and finished 62nd.

Princeton's Annika Welander won medalist honors with 76-70--146 (+6), followed by teammate Michelle Grilli (77-71--148, +8).

Penn is in action again this weekend, taking part in the ECAC Championships from Friday to Sunday in Williamsburg, Va.
