PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s golf team will tee it up for the 2016 spring season opener on Monday and Tuesday, competing in the 28th annual Kingsmill Intercollegiate. The 54-hole event, which is hosted by William & Mary, features 19 teams who will play 36 holes on Monday and a final 18 on Tuesday.

The tournament will take place on the famed River Course at the Kingsmill Resort. The River Course, which hosts the Kingsmill LPGA Open each May among other events, will play at par 72 for this tournament.

Penn is the only Ivy League school in the field, which includes the host William & Mary, Bethune-Cookman, Boston University, Delaware, Eastern Michigan, Fairleigh Dickinson, Lehigh, Longwood, Navy, Northern Illinois, Radford, Richmond, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis (Pa.), St. John’s, Toledo, Towson and Wagner.

Penn’s lineup will include juniors Isabella Rahm and Erin Lo; sophomores Tiffany Yau and Michelle Yom; and freshman Rachel Dai.

“We are looking forward to our first event of the spring season,” said head coach Mark Anderson. “We had a great spring break in Tampa and worked hard to prepare for the season. You never know what to expect in the first event, but we have a few players that are playing well so I expect some solid rounds in this tournament. Four events in the next five weeks will get our team in great shape for Ivies at the end of April.”
