Women's Golf Sweeps at Spider Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. - The Penn women's golf team had a successful final tournament this fall, sweeping to the championship at the University of Richmond's Spider Invitational. The 54-hole event was played Monday and Tuesday at the par-72Independence Golf Clubin Midlothian, Va.

As a team, Penn shot the low score in each round -- the Quakers were tied for low score in Monday's second round -- and finished the tournament at 902. That was 30 strokes ahead of second-place Bradley and 41 strokes ahead of host Richmond.

Individually, Penn players took first and second and had another tie for third. Sophomore Isabel Han took medalist honors, carding a final-round 71 to finish at 4-over par 220 for the tournament. Freshman Michelle Lee was second overall, shooting 76-73-74--223, while classmate Rui Li (the leader through Monday's play)carded 72-73-80--225 and tied for third.

Junior Tiffany Cheung shot 79-78-77--234 and tied for 10th overall, while freshman Olivia Chang rounded out Penn's lineup with a 79-80-80--239 to tie for 19th. Sophomore Elizabeth Kresock played as an individual and shot 89-82-88--259 to tie for 40th in the field.
