Women's Golf Takes Fifth at Rutgers Invitational

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. - The Penn women's golf team placed fifth out of 15 teams at the Rutgers Invitational, which concluded late Saturday with the second of two rounds.

The tournament concludes the team's fall schedule.

The Quakers shot 326-338--364 on the par-72 course, finishing 31 strokes behind team champion Columbia (317-326--643). Bucknell was second at 644, Lehigh was third at 653, and Towson finished fourth with 659.

Freshmen Lisette Vitter and Meredith Kotowski tied for team honors among the Penn players. Vitter shot 82-76--158, while Kotowski shot twin 79s (also for 158) as they tied alone for sixth place overall.

Nicole Kouch was next up for Penn, shooting 84-89--173 and tying for 38th overall. Catherine Elliott carded 81-94--175 to tie for 45th overall, while Stephanie Stamas shot 87-95--182 and tied for 53rd.

Host Rutgers went home with one trophy Saturday night, as Lauren Huhnerkoch won the individual title with a 79-74--153, just nine over par.
