Penn is coming off a second-place finish at last year's Ivy League Championships, and has a lineup that figures to be in the mix again come late April. With one notable exception, that group will be playing this fall. This weekend's lineup features seniors Isabel Han, Libby Hooton and Allison Oakes (a newcomer to the program); junior Olivia Chang; and sophomore All-Ivy Amanda Chin. Another senior, Elizabeth Kresock, will play the tournament as an individual.
"This is our first event of the season and will be a good test for us. Most of the Ivy League schools will be here and it will be good to see where we stack up at the start of the season," said head coach Mark Anderson, who enters his fourth season with the Quakers. "The women have worked hard the past two weeks to get ready, and now it is time to put them to the test.We will be without the services of junior Michelle Lee this fall -- she is studying abroad in Paris, France -- but with the veteran squad that we have, they should be tough.
"Isabel and Amanda finished strong at Ivies last spring and I am looking for them to lead this team through the fall.Alli Oakes has been a great addition to our team and will be a strong contributor as well. We have four seniors, a junior and a sophmore on this squad so I look for experience to play a factor in our success this fall."
