PHILADELPHIA – After a weekend away from outside competition, the University of Pennsylvania women’s golf team returns to tournament action this weekend at the Rutgers Invitational. The 36-hole event will take place Friday and Saturday on the par-72 Rutgers University Golf Course.
Penn is one of two Ivy League teams in the 17-team field, along with Dartmouth. In addition to the Scarlet Knights, the field also includes Albany, Central Connecticut, Fairfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, Hofstra, Lehigh, LIU-Brooklyn, Monmouth, Quinnipiac, St. John’s, Sacred Heart, St. Francis-Brooklyn, Saint Francis (Pa.), and Wagner.
Penn will once again play without senior standout Amanda Chin, so the Quakers’ lineup this weekend will include sophomores Sophia Chen, Marissa Kay, Erin Lo and Isabella Rahm as well as freshman Michelle Yom.
“We will be without our senior captain again this week, but we have five strong players in our lineup,” said head coach Mark Anderson. “I am looking forward to a strong finish from them. We are finishing the fall season with three events in three weeks, so it would be nice to start it off with a solid performance at Rutgers.”
