Women's Golf Tees Off The Spring Season

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women's golf team had a superb fall, and the Quakers will look to continue their strong play with their first event of the spring this weekend. Penn will play the 36-hole C&F Bank Women's Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va., with 18 holes to be played Saturday and 18 on Sunday.

Penn is one of 19 teams in the field, including two from the host school (William & Mary). The only other Ivy League team in the field is Yale. This weekend's tournament will be played on the par-72, 6,050-yard Blackheath Course at Ford's Colony Resort.

Penn's lineup will look familiar to people who follow the program - Isabel Han, who won medalist honors last weekend in Savannah, Ga., will be joined by junior Tiffany Cheung and freshmen Michelle Lee, Rui Li, and Olivia Chang.

"We are very excited about this upcoming weekend," said Head Coach Mark Anderson. "The team has been working hard and has a lot of confidence. The women are coming off of the best fall season in Penn history, and I expect them to play even better this spring.

"We have about six weeks before we defend our Ivy League title in Atlantic City, N.J.," he continued. "Over that time, we will work on solidifying our top five, defining and improvingour weaknesses, andworking very hard on our short games."
