BOLTON, Mass. - The Penn women's golf team had a strong second day at this weekend's Harvard Invitational, and took third in the seven-team Ivy League field. The 36-hole event was played at the par-72 The International.

The Quakers shot 323 on a blustery first day, but came back with a team 302 on Sunday which was best among the Ancient Eights in attendance. As a result, their two-round score of 625 placed them behind only Yale (609) and host Harvard (611). Princeton was fourth in with 628.

Isabel Han had another stellar weekend and finished as Penn's low scorer. She carded 75-74--149 and tied for third with Yale's Sun Gyoung Park. Yale's Seo Hee Moon was individual champion, shooting 74-66--140 and easily defeating the rest of the field. Harvard's Bonnie Hu was second (75-73--148).

Junior Tiffany Cheung was second among Penn players and tied for 13th overall, shooting 82-76--158. Rui Li was right behind her and tied for 16th overall (86-73--159) while Michelle Lee was just another stroke back and tied for 19th (80-80--160). Elizabeth Kresock scored for Penn on Sunday and finished the tournament in 38th place overall (95-79-174).

"The women struggled the first day, but I was very proud of their ability to hang in there and come back with a great round the second day," said head coach Mark Anderson. "Isabel continued her great play this fall and was very steady over the entire tournament."

The women will conclude the fall portion of their season Nov. 1-2 at the University of Richmond's Spider Invitational.
