Women's Golf Tied For Third After Day 1 at Brown

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The University of Pennsylvania women's golf is tied for third place out of 16 teams after Sunday's first round at the Brown Bears Spring Invitational. The 36-hole tournament will conclude tomorrow at the par-71 Metacomet Country Club.

Penn shot 302 as a team on Sunday, and is tied with Boston University. Yale leads the field after shooting 295 on Sunday, two shots ahead of second-place Princeton (297). Among the other Ivy League teams in the field, host Brown is fifth (310) and Dartmouth is ninth (315).

Senior Amanda Chin shot 74 on Sunday and was Penn's low scorer on the day; she is two shots off the lead and tied for sixth overall in a field of 87 golfers. Erin Lo was one shot behind Chin, at 75, and is tied for 12th, while Isabella Rahm shot a 76 and is tied for 19th and Michelle Yom carded a 77 and is tied for 25th. Franchesca de la Torre shot an 81 on Sunday and is tied for 49th in the field.

There is a three-way tie atop the leaderboard, as Nicole Scola (Quinnipiac), Adela Cejnarova (BU) and Jordan Lippetz (Princeton) all shot 1-over-par 72.
