Women's Golf Ties For Fourth at Hoya Invitational

BEALLSVILLE, Md. - The University of Pennsylvania women's golf team finished tied for fourth out of 14 teams at the Hoya Invitational, which concluded Tuesday. The 54-hole event was hosted by Georgetown University and played at The Members Club at Four Seasons, a par-72 course.

The Quakers shot 304 as a team in Tuesday's final round, putting them at 919 for the tournament which tied them with Nova Southeastern. Campbell took the team title, shooting 290 on Tuesday to finish at 894. Yale was second (296 on Tuesday, 907 overall), while Seton Hall was third (303 on Tuesday, 918 overall). The other Ivy League team in the field, Brown, shot 327 on Tuesday and finished 10th overall at 988.

Individually, sophomore Amanda Chin was one of justthreewomen in the 79-player fieldto shoot a 3-under-par 69 on Tuesday; that put her at even-par 216 for the event, and placed her just one stroke behind champion Harin Lee of St. John's. Lee also shot a 69 on Tuesday, and finished the event at 215. Lisbeth Brooks (Campbell) tied Chin for second, as she shot a final-round 70.

For Chin, it marked her third sub-70 round this year and her second this spring; she also had a 69 in a dual match with Princeton on March 30.

Senior Isabel Han carded a 76 on Tuesday and finished tied for ninth overall at 229, while Michelle Lee shot a 77 and tied for 11th overall, one stroke behind at 230. Allison Oakes had an 85 Tuesday and ended up tied for 43rd overall at 247, while Elizabeth Kresock scored for the Quakers with her final-round 82. Overall, Kresock shot 251 and tied for 52nd overall.

Penn completes a busy week this Friday, participating in the 36-hole Roar-EE Invitational. That tournament will be hosted by Columbia at Spook Rock Golf Course in Suffern, N.Y.
