Women's Golf to Play at Hoya Invitational

Hoya Invitational - course information

PHILADELPHIA - The Penn women’s golf team competes in its second event of the spring season this Monday and Tuesday at the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown University.

The Hoya Invitational will be held at The Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md. The Members Club at Four Streams became the new home for the Georgetown men’s and women’s golf programs during the 2006-07 school year.

The 15-team field includes Penn and the host Hoyas as well as Boston College, Columbia, Hartford, Lehigh, Nova Southeastern, Princeton, Richmond, Rollins, Rutgers, Sacred Heart, St. John’s, Siena, and William & Mary.

The Quakers are coming off a 17th-place finish at the First Market Bank Intercollegiate, held last weekend in Williamsburg, Va. Of note, freshman Tiffany Cheung led the way with the lowest score, the third time in five tournaments this year she has been Penn’s low scorer. Cheung was followed by junior Meredith Kotowski who missed the fall season while studying abroad. As a sign of the team’s increasing depth, junior Lisette Vitter -- who led the way twice in four tournaments this fall -- was Penn’s third-place scorer last weekend.
