WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Penn women's golf team had the lowest team round both Saturday and Sunday, and the combination was an 18-stroke victory at the ECAC Championships, an 11-team event held at the par-72 Kiskiack Golf Club.
The Quakers shot 310 as a team Saturday, then followed that up with a 306 on Sunday for a two-day total of 616. That was well ahead of Albany (320-314--634) and Lehigh (312-322--634), who tied for second. Hartford (327-309--636) was fourth. Penn was the only Ivy League team in the field.
Individually, senior Meredith Kotowski and freshman Isabel Han led the Quakers as they tied for second overall behind medalist Sarah Sideranko from Hartford (80-71--151). Kotowski carded 79-73--152, while Han shot 75-77--152. Senior Catherine Elliott went 75-81--156 to tie for seventh overall, while senior Lisette Vitter finished ninth overall with 82-75--157. FreshmanElizabeth Kresock (81-85--166) finished 25th overall, as 55 golfers participated.
Penn returns to action Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 12-13, when the Quakers participate in the Richmond (Va.) Invitational.
