PHILADELPHIA--The No. 1 Penn women's lacrosse team shut out its city rival Temple in fhe first half and cruised to a 15-2 win to close out the regular season. The Quakers finished with a 14-1 record while Temple, this year'sA-10 champion, finished the season at 13-6.

Penn's shot selection was impeccable; the first five shots of the game were goals. Penn continued to score at will with back-to-back goals from Courtney Lubbe, one from Allison Ambrozy and then back-to-back tallies from Ali DeLuca to close out the half with a 10-0 score.

Bethany Warren continued the attack in the second with a score at 24:52. Temple finally got on the board at 20:45 with an unassisted goal by Nicole Caniglia. That goal ended 71:50 scoreless minutes for Penn’s opponents.

Penn snapped in three more goals from Warren, Samantha Bird and Hannah Rudloff before Caniglia put in the Owls’ only other goal on a free position shot at 3:55.

Sophomore Megan Smith netted the Quakers’ 15th goal at 2:22 with an assist from Lily Posner to close out the day’s scoring.

Penn cleared its bench during the game with all but two injured players making appearances in the game.

It was also the final regular season game for the team's seniors--Allison Ambrozy, Kaitlin Farmer, Tarah Kirnan, Chelsea Kocis, Melissa Lehman, Rachel Manson and Sarah Waxman.
