Women's Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Academic Honors

PHILADELPHIA -- The University of Pennsylvania women's lacrosse team received team and individual recognition from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently, earning Academic Honor Squad honors as a team and receiving three individual Academic Honor Roll awards.

"We strive to be an elite program on and off the field," head coach Karin Corbett said. "I am proud that our players have also made academic success a goal each season, and accomplished that goal again in 2015."

The Quakers advanced to a ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament in 2015 -- the sixth-longest active streak among all Division I programs -- while posting a 14-5 record. Off the field, the Red and Blue achieved a team GPA of 3.0 or higher and earned Academic Honor Squad recognition.

Individually, Lucy Ferguson, Brooke Kiley, and Meg Markham were named to the IWLCA/Zag Sports Academic Honor Roll. To be selected, a player must be at least a junior academically and maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher. For Ferguson and Markham, their selection was the second of their careers. Kiley, a rising senior, was selected for the first time.
