Women's Lacrosse Has Two Named IWLCA All-Academic

PHILADELPHIA - Graduated having continued Penn's tradition of stellar play in the cage, goalkeeper Emily Leitner C'12 was recently named to the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll -- the second time in two seasons she was recognized for her work in the classroom as well as on the field. Leitner was one of two Penn players recognized by the IWLCA, joined by Lizzy Price.

Leitner, a unanimous first-team All-Ivy selection in 2012, was also named Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Performer of the Year for women's lacrosse. An Academic All-Ivy selection in 2011, Leitner set her career high in saves three times during the 2012 season, finishing with a single-game best of 16 against No. 3 Maryland.

Price appeared in five contests for the Quakers in 2012, making one start. She recorded two draw controls in a win against Columbia.
