PHILADELPHIA--The Penn women's lacrosse team was named the fourth seed in the NCAA tournament and is slated to play Fairfield on Sunday, May 10. The game will be held at Drexel's Vidas Field at 1 p.m.
This is the third consecutive NCAA appearance for Penn (13-2)and the first ever bid for the Stags (17-2). Fairfield is running an 11-game winning streak heading into its meeting with the Quakers.
The Stags captured the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Lacrosse League regular season title for the second straight season with an undefeated 6-0 mark.Fairfield then knocked off Manhattan and Marist to capture the tournament crown and defeated Sacred Heart 16-10 on Saturday in an NCAA play-in game to earn its berth.
