Boston, Mass. - The Penn women's rowing team competed at the annual Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday, Oct. 24 and finished 17th out of 42 crews in the Women's Championship 8.
"We only rowed in one event because that's all we received from the lottery this year," Head Coach Barb Grudt said. "But that one race was a great race for us to compete in. We improved over 10 places from where we finished last year and finished two-tenths of a second behind Stanford, while defeating several conference opponents.
"The student-athletes were well prepared for the event and raced the shortened course aggressively,"Grudtcontinued. "Everyone agrees there are things to work on for this week's race on the Schuylkill, and that'svery good news."
The Quakers will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 30 for the Head of the Schuylkill.
