Women's Rowing Finishes Fifth at Schuylkill

PHILADELPHIA - The University of Pennsylvania women's rowing team finished fifth in both of the divisions in which it placed boats Saturday at the Head of the Schuylkill.

In the novice 8+, run in the morning, the Quakers clocked 15:21.96 which placed them fifth. Old Dominion was the champion, in 14:52.39, followed by Navy's A boat, Drexel's A boat, and Fordham. Those five boats were the only ones to finish in less than 16 minutes.

In the open championship 8+, run in the afternoon, Penn's time of 13:56.45 was good for fifth. Michigan State's A boat was the champion, in 14:14.70, followed by Navy, Holy Cross and MSU's B boat.

Penn will continue a busy race weekend tomorrow at the Princeton Chase.
