Women's Rowing Set for Final Home Race of the Spring

PHILADELPHIA – The University of Pennsylvania women’s rowing team ends its home schedule Saturday morning, hosting Northeastern and Syracuse in the Orange Challenge Cup.

Northeastern won last year’s race on Lake Onondaga, finishing at 7:18.32. Syracuse came in second (7:32.75) and Penn third (7:37.51). Northeastern holds the all-time lead with 13 victories, followed by Penn (7) and Syracuse (5). The Quakers are looking for their first win in this race since 1995.

Last Time Out

Penn won two separate races last Saturday. The varsity 8 defeated Georgetown and MIT in the morning, clocking in at 6:27.4. The second varsity 8 finished a close second at 6:27.9. The novice 4 (7:38.2) and novice 8 (6:46.0) also picked up victories.

In the afternoon, against George Washington, the varsity 8 finished first (6:34.9), followed by the second varsity 8 (6:35.4). The novice 8 (6:47.1) and second novice 8 (7:03.2) also finished first and second, respectively.
