Women's Rowing Will Send an Eight to Boston

Head of the Charles Information

PHILADELPHIA - Any rowing aficionado can tell you that it does not get much bigger than the Head of the Charles Regatta, which takes place this weekend on the Charles River in Boston. The Penn women will send one boat to the event, to compete in the Women’s Championship Eights which concludes a long day of rowing Sunday.

“The Head of the Charles is one of the world’s greatest rowing events,” said third-year head coach Mike Lane. “It is fun for the athletes, and an exciting opportunity for our athletes to compete with the nation’s best.”

“The goal is to build on our top 20 ranking from last spring,” he continued. “The fall season gives us an opportunity to build on the foundation for a successful spring.”
