HANOVER, N.H. -The University of Pennsylvania women’s soccer team allowed one Dartmouth goal late in the first half, another early in the second, and could not make up the difference Saturday in a 2-0 loss to the Big Green.

Penn fell to 5-5-2 overall, 1-3-0 in Ivy League play. Dartmouth is now 4-4-4 overall, 1-0-3 in Ivy play.

Corey Delaney put Dartmouth up 1-0 with just over 10 minutes remaining in the first half. Meredith Gurnee set the play in motion with a nice one-touch that Delaney finished to give the Big Green a lead it would not relinquish.

Jackie Friedman doubled Dartmouth’s advantage just 3:25 into the second half, putting home a shot from about 25 yards out that Penn goalkeeper Katherine Myhre could not stop.

Dartmouth outshot Penn on the night, 8-4 (three of the Quakers’ shots coming from sophomore Lindsey Sawczuk). Myhre finished Saturday’s game with one save, while another Big Green shot was cleared off the line by a Penn defender. At the other end, Tatiana Saunders had two saves to get the clean sheet for the Big Green.

Penn is off all week until next Saturday, when the Quakers again hit the road for an Ivy League match against Yale. That match will kick off at 4 p.m.
