RICHMOND, Va. -The University of Pennsylvania women’s soccer team tied VCU on Friday night, 0-0, in the first meeting between these two programs. The match was played at VCU’s Sports Backers Stadium.
Penn moved to 2-1-2 on the season with the draw, while the Rams are now 3-3-3.
VCU came into the match on a two-game winning streak, and the Rams outshot Penn on the night 11-4. Freshman Natasha Davenport had the Quakers’ only shot on goal. At the other end, Katherine Myhre got the start in goal before giving way to Kalijah Terilli at halftime. Terilli had four saves, while Myhre was not called on to make one.
Penn welcomed senior captain Kaitlyn Moore back into the lineup on Friday night for the first time this season. The senior had missed the Quakers’ first four games due to injury, but played 63 minutes in Friday’s match.
Penn continues its road trip with a game at Delaware on Sunday. The Quakers and the Blue Hens will kick off at 1 p.m. in Newark, Del.
