Women's Soccer Hosts Successful City 6 Round Robin

PHILADELPHIA – The inaugural City 6 Round Robin women’s soccer event proved to be a major success, as perfect weather and a scenic Penn Park setting were the highlights at the University of Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 16.

All six of the city’s Division I women’s soccer programs -- Penn, Drexel, La Salle, Saint Joseph’s, Temple and Villanova -- came together and played a series of shortened matches in a pair of three-team groups. Temple and La Salle emerged from group play to advance to the final, with the Owls defeating the Explorers 5-3 in PKs to win the day.

Temple’s Elaine Byerley was named the Tournament MVP, and each team had two all-tournament selections who were picked by the coaches. They are listed below.
