Women's Soccer Kicks Off 2004 Season Today at Rhodes Field

Philadelphia - The University of Pennsylvania women’s soccer team kicks off the 2004 season this afternoon as it hosts the College of Charleston at 5 p.m. on Rhodes Field.


“It’s always good to get into the season after an intense, tough preseason and the College of Charleston will provide us witha solid test early on,” Head Coach Darren Ambrose said. “I am looking forward to seeing where we are as a team and to playing against some good opposition.”


The Quakers, ranked 7th in the region in a recent SoccerBuzz.com poll, return 19 letterwinners from last year’s squad, including 10 seniors and two-time All-American Katy Cross.

Penn continues play on Sept. 5 as No. 13 Texas A&M travels to Rhodes Field for an 11:30 a.m. start.
