Women's Squash Schedule
PHILADELPHIA – After a third-place finish in the Ivy League and a No. 4 national ranking, Penn women’s squash had a tough schedule to prepare them for Ivy League and CSA Individual Championships. The Quakers will face all of the other nine teams that finished last season in the top-10 as well as the top-ranked Division III team.
The Ivy League scrimmages will be the first action Penn will see this season. Hosted by Yale, the scrimmages will take place Nov. 12-13. The first official match of the season will be Nov. 28 against George Washington and Bates in Washington, D.C.
The Quakers will also face 33rd-Street rival Drexel (Nov. 28), Williams and Middlebury (Nov. 30) before taking an almost two-month break leading into Ivy competition. The home and Ivy League opener will be Jan. 12 against Harvard, the defending Howe Cup champions. Dartmouth will also be in town that weekend for an Ivy League match on Jan. 13.
Penn then travels for a non-conference match at Franklin & Marshall (Jan. 16) before hosting Trinity (Jan 19.), the top-ranked Division III team last year. The Quakers then head to Princeton on Jan. 30 to resume Ivy League play. Penn beat Princeton in the regular season last year before losing to the Tigers in the Howe Cup.
The Quakers travel to Rhode Island for an Ivy League match-up with Brown and a non-conference meeting against Stanford, both on Feb 2. A day later Yale, the Howe Cup runner-up, will also host Penn for another Ivy match. Penn closes the season on the road at Columbia (Feb. 8) and finally at home against Cornell (Feb. 10).
Penn women's squash will take part in its team championships from Feb. 15-17 at Yale. After a week off from competition while the men’s team competes in its championship, Penn will head to the CSA Individual Championships, Mar. 2-4, at Trinity College.
