Women's Squash Beats Brown, 8-1

PHILADELPHIA -Extending its winning streak to five, the University of Pennsylvania women's squash team defeated Brown 8-1 on Saturday. The Quakers took the top eight spots on the ladder and didn't need more than three games in any match to do so.

Anaka Alankamony picked up her first win in the top spot for Penn this season. Alankamony had competed in the second spot for Penn for the entire season.

Yan Xin Tan dominated her counterpart, winning by scores of 11-3, 11-2, and 11-0. Tan competed in the second position for Penn.

Marie Stephan extended her unbeaten streak to 24 matches dating back to last season and her games streak to 30 this season. Stephan saw little resistance winning all three games by large margins.

Rowaida Attia didn't take long to win her three games either. Attia allowed no more than four points in any game.

Michelle Wong also took a three-game victory. Wong won her final game 11-1.

Haidi Lala put herself back in the win column with a 3-0 win. She won her three games, 11-6, 11-4, and 11-4.

Grace van Arkel had to fight her way to a 3-0 win, taking the final two games 13-11.

Camille Lanier breezed past her foe with a 3-0 win, allowing no more than 5 points.

Lauren Wolf made her debut on the ladder, competing in the ninth position for Penn, but lost 3-0, despite high level of effort.

Penn is back at it on Sunday against No. 4 Yale at the Ringe Squash Courts.
