PHILADELPHIA – The third-ranked University of Pennsylvania women’s squash team extended its impressive start the 2014-15 season on Saturday afternoon, defeating No. 10 Dartmouth 9-0 inside the Ringe Squash Courts.
The Quakers are off to their best start – 6-0 – since the 2009-10 season, which saw the Red and Blue roll off nine straightvictories to begin the season. Even more impressive to this year’s six win start, is that every victory has come, 9-0.
Continuing their dominance so far this season, Penn’s Anaka Alankamony, Yan Xin Tan, Melissa Alves, Michelle Wong, Ali Richmond, and Leslie Gill all picked up their sixth individual victories. Sophomore Grace van Arkel picked up her fifth victory, senior Collen Fehm picked up her fourth victory, while junior Camille Lanier picked up her third win.
After defeating Dartmouth (0-3, 0-2 Ivy), Penn’s winning streak will be tested Sunday, as Ivy rival No. 1 Harvard visit the Quakers (6-0, 1-0 Ivy), beginning at 12 p.m.
