Women's Squash Blanks Williams, 9-0, in Howe Cup

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The University of Pennsylvania women's squash team bounced back from a loss yesterday to defeat Williams, 9-0, in the consolation semifinal of the Howe Cup at Harvard.

The Quakers, seeded fifth in the national championship tournament,will now move on to face sixth-seeded Dartmouth Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

Every Penn player won by a 3-0 scoreline, several by comfortable margins. Elizabeth Kern was flawless at No. 9, winning 3-0 (9-0, 9-0, 9-0), while Caitlin Russell won 3-0 (9-5, 9-0, 9-0) at No. 5. Paula Pearson rebounded from a tight first game to defeat Kate Whipple, 3-0 (10-9, 9-0, 9-0) at No. 2. Alisha Turner, Padhika Ahluwalia, Tara Chawla, Lauralynn Drury, Emily Goodwin, and Meggie Kempner were all 3-0 winners.

The Quakers' match tomorrow with Dartmouth will close out the team portion of the season and will determine fifth place in the Howe Cup.
