Women's Squash Competes at Constable Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - Several member of the Penn women's squash team competed this weekend in the Constable Invitational, held at Princeton University.

Freshman Alisha Turner placed sixth in the top draw after losing her first match but advancing to the final of the consolation bracket, where she fell to Ashley Clackson, 3-1. Junior co-captains Paula Pearson and Radhika Ahluwalia also lost their opening-round matches. Pearson advanced to the semifinal roundof the consolation bracket before falling to Clackson, while Ahluwalia fell in the first round of the consolation bracket.

Freshman Tara Chawla won the second-tier W5.5 consolation bracket despite receiving the seventh seed. Chawla put together a string of five- and four-set victories, including a 3-2win over teammate Lauralynn Drury in the quarterfinals and a 3-1 win over Caitlin Russell in the semis.

Penn returns to team action Wednesday when it takes on Princeton at Ringe Courts. The team's home finale will start at 6:30 p.m.
