Women's Squash Cruises to 9-0 Win Over Brown

PHILADELPHIA - The No. 6 Penn women's squash team won all nine flights 3-0 to drop No. 7 Brown, 9-0, Sunday at Ringe Courts.

The Quakers (3-1, 2-1 Ivy) rebounded from yesterday's loss to No. 1 Yale while the Bears (0-3, 0-3 Ivy) remain winless this season.

"We took a lot of positives out of the match against Yale," said Head Coach Jack Wyant. "We just wanted to go out and win every game we could."

The day was highlighted by three entertaining matches on center court, with Tara Chawla starting the match at No. 3 and winning, 3-0 (10-8, 9-1, 9-4). Radhika Ahluwalia won by an identical scoreline at No. 2, while Paula Pearson won 3-0 (9-4, 9-5, 9-6) at No. 1.

"They did a great job today," Wyant said. "They managed to win the close games."

Alisha Turner improved to 4-0 this year with her 3-0 (9-3, 9-2, 9-1) win at No. 4. Lauralynn Drury, Caitlin Russell, Meggie Kempner, Emily Goodwin and Elizabeth Kern were all 3-0 winners from five to nine, while Chloe Wynne picked up a 3-0 (9-1, 9-0, 9-0) win at No. 10.

Penn will take a month-long winter break before returning to action with two matches on Jan. 14. The Quakers will travel to Massachusetts to face Amherst and Williams.
